Electric Vehicle Charging Stations
Electric Vehicles are becoming a more popular choice among consumers. When you purchase an electric vehicle, consider your options for charging. The added convenience of having a reliable charging port in your home is important to many electric vehicle owners and Great Lights Electric can help install your charging station!
Different Levels of EVSE’s:
- Level 1: Comes standard with most electric vehicles. A level 1 charger can be plugged into any normal outlet and requires no installation. However, it also charges vehicle batteries slowly (anywhere from 10-20+ hours).
- Level 2: This charger needs to be professionally installed in your garage as it requires a dedicated 240-volt circuit. The major advantage of a level 2 charger is the time and efficiency with which it charges your electrical vehicle. Great Lights Electric will ensure that your level 2 charger is installed in a convenient place for your vehicle and that it is safely applying a good level of electricity to your car.
- Level 3: This is typically what you’ll see at public charging stations and is the fastest charging system for electric vehicles. Though currently unavailable to homeowners due to the power draw, if you are looking for a charging station for a public building this is an option for you.

A level 2 charging station might be an option for you if you don’t want to wait for your electric vehicle to fully charge all day or overnight. Call Great Lights Electric today to inquire about our installation process! We will work with you to ensure that your setup is appropriate for the level of electricity needed, help you pick the right fit for your car model and upgrade electrical systems if needed.
